EHR.Network ABDM Connect | ABDM Integration for Captive & Legacy Healthtech Applications

At EHR.Network, we are committed to making ABDM integration seamless and adaptable for every healthcare provider. With our latest enhancement, ABDM Connect now supports separate healthtech application instances per facility to enable ABDM integration for Captive Healthtech Applications.

With this, we are offering greater flexibility for diverse deployment scenarios that cover pretty much every ABDM integration requirements.

🔎 Why This Matters

During our discussions with customers and partners, we identified a critical need: many healthtech vendors deploy captive instances of their systems for individual clients.

Unlike multi-tenant SaaS applications—where all clients use a single backend URL—these captive deployments require facility-specific application instances.

👉 Until now, ABDM Connect’s default multi-tenant design primarily supported SaaS-based healthtech systems. With this new enhancement, we are extending our capabilities to ensure every type of healthtech deployment can achieve ABDM compliance.

⚙️ The New Routing Service

To enable this flexibility, we have introduced a dedicated routing service within ABDM Connect. This service:

  • 🗂️ Maintains facility-level backend URL mappings
  • 🔄 Routes requests dynamically to the correct backend instance based on the Facility ID
  • 🧩 Works seamlessly with the existing ABDM Connect tech stack, ensuring minimal additional complexity

This approach provides the best of both worlds—scalability for SaaS-based deployments and granularity for captive instance models—making ABDM Connect suitable for a wide variety of healthtech ecosystems.

🏗️ Unlocking ABDM Integration for Captive Healthtech Applications

By supporting facility-specific backends, ABDM Connect can now extend integration capabilities to a large number of legacy healthtech applications that have been powering India’s healthcare providers for decades.

✅ More hospitals, clinics, and healthtech systems can now onboard to ABDM quickly, cost-effectively, and with minimal disruption.

🌐 Our Commitment

At EHR.Network, our mission is simple: to enable every healthtech system to seamlessly integrate with ABDM. With this new capability, we’re one step closer to achieving that goal, empowering healthcare providers across India with digital health interoperability.
